Bob Selden
The National Learning Institute is headed by Bob Selden who has over 30 years’ experience working in the area of management and training. He has qualifications in psychology, organisational psychology and management.
During his career, Bob has experienced first-hand the challenges of both line and senior management roles. Prior to commencing his consultancy work, his previous corporate role was as Senior Manager Policy & Planning for the State Bank of New South Wales (Australia) where he was responsible for setting the HR policy for the bank. This hands-on managerial experience together with his extensive consultancy work in Australia, Asia, Africa, North America and Europe enables him to provide advice and assistance to organisations that is always practical and applicable.
He’s recently spent seven years working in Europe on consultancy projects for firms such as Tetra Pak and ING.
Bob is a highly sought-after facilitator for the conduct of training programs such as Leadership (for corporates 3M Australia and Sydney Water and the Advanced Leader Program for the Australian Graduate School of Management, (Universities of NSW & Sydney), through to strategic planning (for AWT, Canterbury Council, The Institute of Internal Auditors and the facilitation of senior management teams change processes (for example, the AMP/GIO merger). He’s also been a coach for the Mobilizing People, leadership development program at one of the world’s premier business schools, IMD University Lausanne, Switzerland.
Bob is the author of The Leadership Benchmark and The Management Competencies Profile, two successful 360-degree profiling products and The Negotiating Advantage, a blended learning package supplied by the National Learning Institute. Recently his book “What To Do When You Become The Boss” became a best seller in the UK and Australia. It is available worldwide through Amazon and was translated and released in China in 2011.
